Acquiring the Habits of Highly Successful Students Part 12

Acquiring the Habits of
Highly Successful Students
Part 12
What is important to you is that you, as you start to reach milestones in your ambitions, you appreciate your own achievements. It is a boost, of course, if others appreciate what you have done too, but appreciating yourself will strengthen your self-belief, and reinforce your determination to succeed. Some of the key characteristics you will find in those who are successful are perseverance, prepared to research, plan and work hard, practice a lot even when things do not seem to be going well, and an ability to recover and learn from your setbacks. At the outset of whatever it is you are trying to succeed in, a strong vision of your future, planning, and setting yourself achievable targets can all play an important role.

“Be Wise- Never Use Drugs or Alcohol”

Many of us have seen family members, friends, and strangers use drugs or alcohol. But that doesn’t mean we have to. Drugs and alcohol aren’t good for you, and can end up causing diseases, sickness, or even death. We have all read tabloids in magazines about an actor/actress, sports team player, or public figure, dying because of these hazardous substances. Or we here in the hallway (if you’re in school that is) “Oh man I got so drunk last night at the party,” or “ We got high yesterday,” but truth is many don’t actually drink or do drugs they just say they do. But what is so “cool” about drugs? The fact that some give cancers? The fact that they’re ruining their lives? Nothing “cool” about that.
Most of the time people do drugs because others in their family do drugs. They either see their mom or dad, older brother or uncle, doing it so it seems okay to do. But it really isn’t. They are hurting themselves and others around them.
Addiction. Now addiction is not good, that means you have consumed so much you become addicted or dependent on a drug or alcoholic substance. But no worries there is groups, and programs to help you with your problem but either way you shouldn’t have let it go that far.
Never touch it, not a single drop of drugs or alcohol. You’ll save yourself from many bad consequences and poor decisions. I don’t honestly understand how anyone could even come to like a drug or alcoholic beverage. There are so many negative consequences and problems that come after it.
It only takes a drop. One single drop and you start wanting more of it. Then more and more. And before you know it you’re addicted, drunk, high, and wasted.
Double Bracket: CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!DON’T DO DRUGS OR DRINK ALCOHOL. CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!

Part 11
Whether studying or in general life, planning is an imperative skill. Here, we must strictly set the hours for studying, and should promote regularity in doing so. Don’t put off your studies to the last moment (just before the test), because in that moment you will be feeling stress and pressure, and both factors will prove disturbing your learning; that’s the high price of procrastination. During the exam, it’s important to b forget about panic and stress. And if you are planning for your thesis, you may find this post useful. Other planning tip I frequently give is that, when you are assigned a homework, try to solve it as quickly as possible, several days before the required date, but don’t try to complete it perfectly and don’t submit it immediately. I always recommend doing homework early, but deliver it at the last possible day.

"The Importance of Being Prompt"

“The Importance of Being Prompt”

What does it mean to be prompt? When you’re prompt you are early, and right on time. Being prompt is something all successful students do. They come prepared, early and ready to receive knowledge from the teachers. To be prompt means to be on time not late like the White rabbit in Alice in wonderland saying “I’m late, I’m late for a very important date!”
It isn’t hard to be prompt, in fact it’s simple. Just be prepared, ready, aware of time, and you won’t be late. Yet, any kids are late to class. Why? They all create a million excuses. “Oh I forgot my book in my locker,” they say or, “I wasn’t aware of time.” Well, you should have got your book during nutrition/lunch and you should get a watch. When you are on time you aren’t in a hurry, you’re not stressed, and your grades aren’t affected by you tardy.
When you’re tardy it goes on your record. Do you want to be known as a person who is never prompt and always late? No successful person is late. Here’s an example, if you get late to a job interview, do you think that will put a good impression to the boss? Or if you’re on a sports team and are late for the big game do you think that will make the coach proud?
If you’re prompt you are less stressed and calmer. Always being late is not a good habit and should be dealt with immediately. Some people have always been prompt never late. Those people were raised to be on time and are probably successful in their lives.
Don’t you want to be successful to? It’s not hard to come on time and be quick. Choose the right and be on time!
