There are several different reasons to work hard in school.

Working hard is very important, as no one wants someone who knows nothing to work for them. Even the simplest jobs require a basic education, and a high school diploma. Also, if you decide to go to college, you can increase you annual salary by a lot. Even a simple college degree can get you a better job than working somewhere like McDonald’s. If you get a job in high school, you can save up for college, but you have to work really hard. You don’t need much reason besides the desire to be successful to work hard. That alone can give you the motivation and perseverance to work hard all throughout your school years.
